Program for Elders/Dementia Reducing Need for Drugs

According to a story on NPR yesterday, a memory care facility and nursing home in Mankato, Minnesota, has significantly reduced the need for anti-psychotic drugs through a program they call Awakenings. The program seeks to understand the cause of behaviors in elders with dementia and other cognitive disabilities and works to try to eliminate it.

The Sibling Survival Guide


Looking for support for an adult sibling of someone with a disability? From Woodbine House comes The Sibling Survival Guide. The book is edited by experts in the field of disabilities and sibling relationships and focuses on the topmost concerns identified in a survey of hundreds of siblings.
