10 Tools for testing Web Accessibility

Jacob Gube at Six Revisions has put together a list of 10 free tools available to test how accessible your website is for people with disabilities. Often when people think of web accessibility they mainly think about whether or not their website is legible to a screen reader. Mr. Gube's list also includes tools to ensure that your website is accessible for people with low vision, and people who are color blind. Check it out at:

cell phone reader

K-NFB Reading Technology, a joint venture between Kurzweil Technologies and the National Federation of the Blind, has come out with a new type of reader that works with a cell phone. All you have to do is snap a picture and the phone will read the words to you. It can even distinguish one denomination of currency from another.

The folks at Google have done it again! You can now create custom search engines to help you get the best results in a given topic without having to slog through all of the unrelated results. To help you find disability related info, we've created a custom search engine and placed it at the bottom of the right hand column of this blog.
