"Bird Tales," a program that brings the natural outdoor world inside for those people who have dementia was developed by Randy Griffin, a Dementia Care Specialist. Using plush birds with their individual chirps built in to help with this multi-sensory program, Ken Elkins from the Audubon Society passes along his knowledge and passion for birds to people with Alzheimer's. Griffin and Elkins have developed a video and workbook to make the program easy to replicate for any assisted living center or dementia care center.
